The Scholarship Fair is typically held in January or February and is a great opportunity to learn more about the scholarships available through the Blaine County Local Scholarships program. You’ll have the chance to meet scholarship sponsors and scholarship managers, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into the scholarships that interest you.
Before attending, we strongly encourage you to review the scholarship listings and eligibility requirements on the Blaine County Local Scholarships website. This will help you identify which scholarships you qualify for and prioritize the organizations you’d like to speak with.
At the event, each scholarship organization will have a designated table, typically identified by a sign displaying the scholarship name. Take time to introduce yourself, ask questions, and learn what each sponsor values in applicants. The Scholarship Fair can be an excellent way to gather information and strengthen your scholarship application strategy.
Not all scholarship sponsors and managers are able to attend the Scholarship Fair. If you have questions about a scholarship that isn’t represented, visit the information table near the entrance. We’ll collect your question and follow up with the scholarship manager after the fair so we can provide you with an answer.
Yes. Check the Blaine County Local Scholarships website for instructions on how to apply to each scholarship and pay close attention to deadlines.
If you’ve requested a letter of application (LOR) from a teacher or boss, please make sure the person followed through on your request.
Also, pay attention to what you’re uploading to the Apply website, so you don’t accidentally upload an incorrect document.
Absolutely. The strongest essays are authentic, personal, and written in your own voice. Share your experiences, goals, challenges, and aspirations honestly.
Applicants should not use AI tools such as ChatGPT to write their essays. Scholarship reviewers are looking to hear directly from you and may review submissions for AI-generated content.
Before submitting, take time to proofread your essay carefully, check for spelling and grammar errors, and ask a trusted teacher, counselor, or family member to review it for clarity.
Congratulations! Being selected for a scholarship is a significant achievement, and you should be proud of your hard work.
For BCEF scholarships: To access your scholarship funds, you must complete the Scholarship Recipient Form. Be prepared to provide your current enrollment status and student ID number. If your BCEF scholarship is renewable and covers more than one academic year, you must reapply annually through the BCEF website to continue receiving funding. We recommend setting a reminder on your calendar now so you don’t forget.
For Non-BCEF Scholarships:
If you received a scholarship administered by another organization (not on the BCEF website), please follow the instructions provided by the scholarship sponsor to receive your funds. If you’re unsure who to contact, please reach out to BCEF at info@supportbcef.org for assistance.
