The Blaine County Education Foundation was incorporated as a 501c(3) in 1992. Founders included Len Harlig, Trina McNeal and Ritu Shivdasani. BCEF focuses community resources and raises funds for the Blaine County School District, promoting academic rigor, teacher excellence and innovation ,equitable educational opportunities and a healthy and sustainable student environment.
Grants are made directly to teachers, schools and students within the Blaine County School District and fit within the framework of the Blaine County School District’s Strategic Plan. All gifts to the Blaine County School District over $500 are received and redistributed by the BCEF. BCEF welcomes restricted donations according to the BCEF gift acceptance policy. 5% of every gift received by BCEF goes to a permanent endowment, a portion of which is redistributed to all 8 schools annually. 90% of your donation goes directly to programs, scholarships, and grants.
Since its inception the BCEF has awarded over $2 million dollars to the teachers, students and schools in the Blaine County School District. Every day our donors affect the lives of over 3,300 students and 300 educators working to fulfill their greatest potential. For more information about our programs, see Why Give and What We Fund.
